With the summer heat now in full swing, temperatures can severely damage natural grass lawns, turning them brown or even killing them altogether. That’s where companies like Lone Star Turf come in. Lone Star Turf is a premium artificial turf company that began in Austin and has expanded across Texas, most recently into the Midland-Odessa area. I spoke with owner Patrick Walthall about why he chose to grow the business in this region.
“Everything revolves around water in Texas—just like it does around oil. Those are the two major resources here. So, we wanted to offer something that could help people save money long-term while also conserving water,” said Walthall.
